The Chiefs may have won over the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, but it was a pyrrhic victory. Kansas City lost Patrick Mahomes to a dislocated kneecap in the first half and he was immediately ruled out of the game. Early reports indicate that Mahomes should miss at least three weeks and maybe more depending on the surrounding ligament damage.
With Mahomes out at least short-term, the Chiefs are in a bit of a bind at quarterback. They have veteran Matt Moore as their lone backup option. Undrafted rookie Kyle Shurmur is on the practice squad, but neither inspires much hope.
