ASHBURN — When Joe Barry was the linebackers coach at USC in 2010, he helped recruit Su’a Cravens, then a star at Vista Murrieta High School, to the Trojans. Barry departed for the San Diego Chargers before Cravens got to USC, but now he’ll finally have a chance to coach him.
The Redskins drafted Cravens, a hybrid outside linebacker and safety, 53rd overall with the 22nd pick in the second round of the NFL draft on Friday. Cravens, who declared for the draft after his junior season, recorded 207 tackles, nine interceptions and 16 pass deflections.
