Before injury in 2017, Redskins rookie defensive tackle Jonathan Allen was a force to be reckoned with. The 6’3” 290 pound 3-4 defensive end was stout against the run, and showed a nice repertoire of pass rush moves from his interior spot along the defensive line.
Unfortunately, a lisfranc injury put the talented rookie on season-ending IR after just five games. It was rumored that Allen was recovering well, and may have been ready to be brought back for the Skins final few games last season, but with the team out of contention for a playoff bid, the medical staff chose to error on the side of caution, and let their first round pick watch from afar as his team struggled down the stretch without him.
