Redskins running back Silas Redd suspended indefinitely by NFL

Washington Redskins running back Silas Redd has been suspended indefinitely without pay by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The suspension is effective immediately.

Redd, who tore his right ACL and MCL last year in the preseason, was on injured reserve for all of 2015. On Nov. 18, Redd was suspended four games without pay for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Although he was on injured reserve, he served that suspension last season.

Even before his injury, Redd was not a certainty to make the team out of training camp.
