The Washington Redskins top three safeties from last season are all no longer with the team. Free safety Ryan Clark has retired, strong safety Brandon Meriweather wasn’t re-signed and Phillip Thomas was released. So coming into this season the Redskins had to revamp both safety spots.
The Redskins traded for Dashon Goldson to come in and be the new starter at free safety. He struggled in two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Redskins are hoping that he’ll revive his career in Washington. His skills are better suited to the Redskins 3-4 but it remains to be seen how he’ll perform?
