When new GM Scot McLoughan traded for Dashon Goldson this offseason, Redskins fans took special notice for two reasons. First, since Sean Taylor’s murder in 2007, Redskins fans have been forced to watch the practically the entire NFC East sprint across FedEx Field with a maroon-and-gold safety drifting behind him like the plastic bag from American Beauty.
And second, Goldson himself has a sad, shall we say, plastic bag history. Though once a Pro Bowl safety for a Super Bowl team, he is most famous for getting seriously overpaid, and then almost immediately becoming one of the worst players on the worst team in football.
