Redskins Re-Sign Ziggy Hood And Vinston Painter

The Redskins are bringing back nine-year defensive end Ziggy Hood and offensive lineman Vinston Painter for the 2017 season, announcing their re-signings on the second week of free agency.

The Washington Redskins on Wednesday announced the re-signings of defensive end Ziggy Hood and offensive lineman Vinston Painter. Terms of their deals were not disclosed.

Hood, a 2009 first-round pick out of Missouri, spent his first five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before splitting time between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

The Missouri product signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Redskins last February, but was not only able to make the 53-man roster, he appeared in all 16 regular season games with 14 starts.
