Redskins RB Matt Jones Skipping OTAs, Waiting To Be Traded Or Released

Mike Jones of the Washington Post, citing a person familiar with RB Matt Jones‘ situation, reports that the running back hasn’t shown up for OTAs because members of the Redskins’ coaching staff have informed him that he’s no longer a part of their plans.

Washington plans to move forward with Rob Kelley and fourth-round pick Samaje Perine, which means Jones is the odd-man-out in the Redskins’ backfield.

Jones is reportedly back in Florida and waiting to either be traded or released, but it appears as though he’s more likely to be released at this point in the NFL offseason.
