ASHBURN, Va. – Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden said he’s not sure if rookie running back Matt Jones will be ready to play Sunday, thanks to a nagging hip injury.
Gruden said Jones was limited in practice and, “unless he shows major improvement tomorrow and Friday, he’s going to be the odd man out.”
Jones has missed the last two games because of a hip pointer. If he’s healthy, it would leave the Redskins with a difficult choice to make about which running backs to deactivate.
