After leading the Washington Redskins to the biggest come-from-behind win in franchise history, quarterback Kirk Cousins was named NFC offensive player of the week.
Cousins completed 33 of 40 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for a touchdown on a read-option play in the Redskins’ 31-30 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday.
At one point, the Redskins trailed the Buccaneers, 24-0, in the second quarter, and scored 21 unanswered points. Cousins connected with tight end Jordan Reed for the game-winning score with 24 seconds remaining.
Cousins’ 33 completions tied a franchise record set by Jason Campbell in 2007.
