Redskins quarterback Alex Smith suffering from complications after surgery

It was known that, the moment Washington Redskins quarterback Alex Smith suffered his leg injury against the Houston Texans, at the hands of J.J. Watt, that the injury was severe. The degree of the severity, however, was not known until Smith underwent testing, and it was revealed that he’d suffered a compound fracture, breaking both his fibula and tibia.

Surgery was performed on Smith’s injury immediately, and initial reports stated that the surgery had been successful. However, complications have arisen from the surgery; complications that could further cloud Smith’s return time table.
