Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins was elated when he notched the first victory of his NFL career against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and he played a crucial role in getting the win; Haskins’ clutch third-down run on the final drive helped the Redskins move the chains, and his third-down pass to Terry McLaurin afterward set up a game-winning field goal.
But while Haskins rose to the occasion on the final drive, the previous three and a half quarters were less superb. Haskins routinely missed open receivers, and there were times when he could have given his offense a better chance to succeed.
