Redskins promote WR Jehu Chesson from practice squad

Earlier in the week, the Washington Redskins released veteran defensive lineman Ziggy Hood. The move opened up a slot on the team’s 53-man roster, and shortly after Hood’s release, speculation ensued as to how his spot would be filled.

The Redskins themselves may not have known until recently. Just yesterday, they brought in three interior offensive linemen for workouts, per ESPN’s John Keim: Oday Aboushi, J.J. Dielman, and John Jerry. With Chase Roullier playing out of position and Tony Bergstrom starting at center, Washington’s offensive line has been inconsistent. Thus, it makes sense that they sought out help.
