Thin at cornerback because of a rash of injuries, the Redskins have promoted Deshazor Everett from the practice squad. The team cut defensive end Frank Kearse to make room for him on the practice squad.
Everett made Washington’s initial 53-man roster after a strong preseason, but was cut only days later to make room for tight end Anthony McCoy. Everett, an undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M, signed to the practice squad.
Kearse has been cut two previous times this season to make room on the roster for other players at injury-riddled positions.
This week’s need arose with starting cornerback Chris Culliver sidelined for three practices this week with an injured left leg.
