Backup quarterback Colt McCoy was an observer during the Redskins’ practice session on Monday afternoon.
McCoy, who has served as the No. 2 quarterback in the first three games, wore sneakers and a ball cap. He watched the start of the pre-practice stretching session, and briefly joined in before standing up and watching the remainder of the segment. McCoy continued to watch as starter Kirk Cousins and backup Robert Griffin III (third string for the first three weeks of the season) took the individual and team reps.
There was no official word on McCoy’s status, or the reason for his day off.
