Kory Lichtensteiger will miss the rest of the regular season as the Washington Redskins announced on Tuesday they have placed their starting center on injured reserve with a designation to return for a potential playoff game.
After starting 53 consecutive games along the offensive line, Lichtensteiger has missed the past three games with a lingering neck injury. The designation is not retroactive and therefore begins on the same day the Redskins placed the seven-year veteran on short-term injured reserve. He cannot practice for at least six weeks and won’t be able to play for at least eight weeks.
