This time last season I doubt anyone suspected that Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins would have the record-breaking season he did in 2015. The Redskins head coach and GM had named Robert Griffin III as the starter not Cousins.
It wasn’t until Robert Griffin III had suffered a concussion in preseason that the door was finally opened for Cousins to become the starter. Initially, Cousins struggles with turnovers continued. However, Jay Gruden stuck by him.
Even though Cousins had thrown eight interceptions in his first six games, Gruden continued to say positive things about him.
