Redskins offer one-year tenders to ILB Will Compton, P Tress Way

The Redskins have extended inside linebacker Will Compton and punter Tress Way tenders for one-year contracts, two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed. Meanwhile, team officials have held discussions with the representatives of a number of Redskins players with expiring contracts.

The Redskins also have had some initial talks regarding re-signing running back Alfred Morris despite plans to use Matt Jones as the starter. But Washington has yet to extend an official offer, and it’s expected that Morris will first test free agency before making a decision, a source said.

The Redskins also have held initial discussions regarding re-signing backup quarterback Colt McCoy and cornerback Will Blackmon, among others.
