Redskins' O has standout day minus Jordan Reed, thanks to ground game

LANDOVER, Md., -- Five offensive observations from the Washington Redskins' 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles:

  1. The Redskins often used the Eagles’ aggressive and penetrating front against them on their runs. The Eagles’ line wants to pressure the passer first and foremost, and the linebackers are aggressive filling gaps. With good backside blocking, that creates cutback opportunities Washington used to its advantage. On one such run by back Matt Jones, there were four Eagles defenders on the other side of the line of the ball shortly after the snap.
