In recent months, the Washington Redskins had handed over control of the Trent Williams holdout to Williams and his agent, Vince Taylor. They gave the two a chance to work out a potential trade for Williams but nothing ever came of it.
But a deal hasn’t happened to this point. And now, the Redskins are stepping in to take control.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo, the Redskins have closed the window for Williams and his agent to negotiate any sort of trade. Through the draft, that responsibility will now fall on the team.
