The whittling process of the Washington Redskins‘ 90-man roster is a gradual one. The final wave of cuts occurs after the final preseason game, as a result of the rule change enacted one year ago. But over the course of the four-game preseason stretch, injuries, among other things, play a crucial part in shaping the roster, for better or worse.
The Redskins’ running back room suffered another minor hit due to injury. Martez Carter, widely considered a preseason phenom who flashed on Thursday night, was waived today, designated as injured. Among other moves, the Redskins also waived Jeff Knox and Jalen Wilkerson, while signing three new players: Wide receiver Allenzae Staggers, defensive back Darius Hillary, and offensive lineman Kendall Calhoun.
