The Redskins will continue to evaluate possible changes at inside linebacker and strong safety this week leading up to Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints. It’s unknown what role linebacker Will Compton will play, but it’s clear he’ll receive a significant increase in playing time.
Compton played well in the 27-10 loss to the New England Patriots, leading the defense with 10 tackles in 52 snaps. He replaced Perry Riley Jr., who received the start at inside linebacker but didn’t register a tackle in 49 snaps, but it’s unknown at this point whether Compton will start over Riley or Keenan Robinson, who missed Wednesday’s practice with shoulder and neck issues.
