The Washington Redskins have been trying to solidify the free safety spot for years now with little success. However, they were able to put a temporary bandaid on the position in 2015 with the presence of Dashon Goldson.
GM Scot McCloughan traded a sixth round pick last year to obtain the services of Goldson and the trade worked out in the Redskins favor. Goldson stepped in and immediately assumed a leadership role on the team and was elected a team captain.
Goldson led the team in tackles with 110 and he also contributed an interception on the season.
