The Eagles were expected to have one of the best backfields in the league this season with the addition of DeMarco Murray this offseason. That hasn’t been the case.
Through three games, Philadelphia is 30th in the league, averaging 64.3 rushing yards per game. Murray, who led the league with 1,845 rushing yards last season with the Cowboys, has just 11 yards on 21 carries in two games. Through his first two games last year, he had 285 rushing yards, and he began the season with a string of eight straight 100-yard games. Murray missed last week’s win over the Jets with a hamstring injury, and he’s questionable to play on Sunday against the Redskins.
