There’s something appealing about a record that has twice as many wins as losses. It feigns excellence, and to a degree, it cultivates the illusion of dominance.
There is nothing excellent or dominant about the 2018 Washington Redskins. Not yet. There have been unsustainable flashes of dominance. For a stretch, the Redskins run defense did not allow a rusher to attain over 61 yards. For a stretch, Washington’s offensive line housed two All-Pro caliber players.
But as the season has churned along, the Redskins’ mortal flaws have been made all too clear. There are still issues on both sides of the ball that need fixing.
