ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins remain hopeful that defensive end Jason Hatcher can play Sunday. Just in case, however, they’re making other plans.
Hatcher missed a second straight day of practice because of a pinched nerve in his neck. On Wednesday, Hatcher said it’s a matter of the nerves regenerating so he can regain his strength.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden said they’re still optimistic about Hatcher's return, but they do have contingency plans if he can’t play. They can keep Frank Kearse active and they can promote defensive end Corey Crawford if needed off the practice squad.
