The Redskins officially announced on Friday they’ve hired Greg Manusky to be their outside linebackers coach, a position that didn’t exist on Redskins Coach Jay Gruden’s staff last season.
Manusky was recently fired after spending four seasons as the Indianapolis Colts’ defensive coordinator. The Colts finished 26th in total defense last year. He played linebacker for the Redskins from 1988-90 and started his coaching career with the franchise in 2001 as a linebackers coach. Manusky was previously a defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers from 2007-10 while Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan held the same position for two years starting in 2008.
