Redskins going with Trenton Robinson at strong safety

The Washington Redskins plan to stick with Trenton Robinson as their starting strong safety for the time being, Coach Jay Gruden said on Wednesday.

Robinson replaced an injured Duke Ihenacho during the second quarter of Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins and played the remainder of the game. In all, Robinson logged 48 defensive snaps, as well as 13 special teams snaps, and recorded eight tackles, which tied for a team high.

Robinson is entering his third season with the Redskins and spent the past two seasons as the backup free safety.
