Back at FedExField for the first time this month, the Redskins are hosting the Panthers with playoff implications on the line as Washington looks to make it back to postseason play.
Second Quarter: Redskins 9, Panthers 13
Carolina would continue their fourth drive of the game into the second quarter, but Washington avoided going into a 17-3 hole, as Bashaud Breeland stopped Greg Olsen for a two-yard loss on third down before Graham Gano came out for a field goal.
The score is now 13-3.
Washington would have a quick three-and-out before Carolina drove into Redskins territory, but were pushed out of field goal range after Cam Newton was called for a 15-yard taunting penalty that placed the Panthers at the 41-yard line for a punt.
