The Washington Redskins have extended an exclusive-rights free agent tender to inside linebacker Will Compton. An exclusive-rights free agent is a player whose contract has expired with two or fewer seasons of service time in the NFL.
Compton can not negotiate with another team and is expected to return as a starting inside linebacker for the Redskins in 2016. Will Compton started nine games last season and finished second on the team in tackles with 96.
He also added a sack and an interception. After starting out on the Redskins practice squad in 2013, Compton has started fourteen games over the past few seasons.
