The Washington Redskins came into this week as the underdog to their NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. However, while it was the Redskins and not the Eagles who were the ones who came out on top at home.
The Redskins opened the scoring 3-0 on a Dustin Hopkins 20 yard field goal after a 13 play, 78 yard drive that was highlighted by a 43 yard Chris Thompson run. Later in the first quarter the Redskins went up 6-0 on another Hopkins field this time from 38 yards out.
The Redskins extended their lead to 13-0 after they concluded a 10 play, 68 yard drive on a 1 yard Kirk Cousins run.
