Redskins draw inspiration from WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder

ASHBURN — If the Washington Redskins even needed any added inspiration to bounce back from Monday night’s 38-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, they got it from WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Wilder, who won the title in January 2015 after beating Bermane Stiverne, visited practice on Friday at Redskins Park and spoke to the team ahead of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-foot-7 Wilder sports a 37-0 record with 36 knockouts. In a July victory, his fourth successful defense of the heavyweight title, Wilder broke his hand and tore his bicep but was able to finish with a win.
