The Washington Redskins selected Matt Jones with the 95th pick in the third round of NFL Draft 2015. I’ve been saying for months that the Redskins would take a running back early in the draft and that’s exactly what they did.
The Redskins running game was a disappointment last season. Starting running back Alfred Morris topped 1,000 yards again but the yards were hard to come by and the top five rushing offense that the Redskins flashed in 2012 and 2013 wasn’t close to that.
So while Morris returns in 2015, the third down back from last season Roy Helu left the team in free agency.
