The Washington Redskins selected Brandon Scherff with the fifth pick in the NFL Draft. They needed an offensive lineman to add more talent to the offense. Their running game had dropped off and quarterback Robert Griffin III had a problem with sacks last season.
So the Redskins went for need here. Scherff can play either offensive tackle or guard so he bring a lot of versatility to the table. At offensive tackle he will make an outstanding bookend to Trent Williams and right tackle might be better for him than left tackle.
And Brandon Scherff is absolutely nasty.
