All the talk this week has been about Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and there will be more about him in Friday’s paper. Rightfully so as Newton has had an MVP-worthy season after 10 weeks, but most of the chatter this week has been about his dancing.
Titans linebacker Avery Williamson approached Newton on Sunday for dancing too long, around 10 seconds, after scoring a touchdown. Williamson and some of the other Titans players were upset in the Panthers’ 27-10 victory over Tennessee because they felt Newton’s excessive dancing violated the “code of ethics in the NFL.” Anytime someone starts throwing around the word “code” in any sport, there’s a strong possibility that it’s coming from a losing team that’s very salty about the outcome of the game.
