ASHBURN, Va. -- Not every player considered it fashionable, but they did appreciate the inside joke --not to mention the team unity. So the 27 players who attended the Washington Redskins' Welcome Home Luncheon -- often an event in which players can display their fashion tastes -- all arrived wearing Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirts.
The Aloha Floral-style shirts were in honor of Redskins director of football operations Paul Kelly -- or perhaps to poke fun of him. The original plan was to wear them on the trip to Tampa, but once the preseason finale against the Buccaneers was moved up a day, their plans shifted.
