The Rams’ offense posted 27 points in a 34-31 overtime win last week against the Seahawks, the defending NFC champions. The Redskins kept them in check, allowing just 10 points on Sunday in the 24-10 win at FedEx Field.
Washington made St. Louis one-dimensional offensively, eliminating the run to force third-and-long situations throughout the game. The Redskins allowed just 67 rushing yards and held the Rams to just 2 of 12 on third downs.
“You know there was no other choice; you know they were going to pass [on third down],” defensive end Ricky Jean Francois said.
