INDIANAPOLIS -- The Washington Redskins' need to find defensive linemen might get a boost by the return of one of their own: defensive end Jason Hatcher. Redskins coach Jay Gruden expressed optimism about his return, after running into Hatcher at a restaurant recently.
Hatcher said after the season ended that he might retire. The Redskins would like him back, though if he does return they likely would try to redo his contract. Hatcher would count $8.7 million against the salary cap. That’s a lot for a player who will turn 34 this summer and needs to take days off during the week to rest his knees.
