ASHBURN, Va. -- He called the moment bittersweet, knowing that more family time awaits his old college coach, Frank Beamer. But Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall also knows what Beamer meant to him, which is why his eyes grew watery as he discussed Beamer’s Virginia Tech tenure.
Beamer announced his retirement on Monday. Hall played three seasons for the Hokies under Beamer from 2001-03.
“He’s been so much more than a football coach to me,” Hall said. “Everybody always asked me when I first got in the league, why did you go to Virginia Tech over some of these other schools.
