ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson said extra motivation and a lot of work with the training staff are why he'll play Thursday night against his former team.
Peterson told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he suffered a Grade 1 high ankle sprain and Grade 2 low ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He underwent an MRI on Monday, but told reporters he plans on playing vs. the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.
"I feel pretty confident," Peterson said. "Yesterday was rough. I didn't really know.
