With their secondary dealt hit by injury once again, the Washington Redskins have signed veteran cornerback Cary Williams, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed.
An eighth-year veteran, Williams appeared in 10 games for Seattle this year, starting all of them. He had 46 tackles and four pass breakups.
A seventh-round pick of the Tennessee Titans out of Washburn in 2008, Williams also has played for Baltimore and Philadelphia. Last spring, he signed a three-year, $18 million contract with Seattle with $7 million guaranteed.
However, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Williams struggled to adjust to the Seahawks’ system and was benched in Week 11.
