Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson came to the team in in 2014 amidst a swirl of controversy. He had been unceremoniously released by then Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly after rumors arose of him having gang affiliations.
Jackson denied this but after his release he instantly became a highly sought after free agent. The Redskins moved quickly to sign Jackson as his reputation for being the top deep threat in the NFL would become an instant asset to the Redskins offense with a new head coach in Jay Gruden.
And Jackson did have an immediate impact on the Redskins offense as he gave them the deep threat they lacked in 2014.
