Signed late last season, nine-year veteran Pierre Thomas could re-join the Redskins in 2016 as the team looks to bolster its running back situation.
While Pierre Thomas was a well-established running back in the NFL, the veteran joined the Washington Redskins last season with an unclear role during their stretch run to the playoffs.

With Chris Thompson dealing with a shoulder injury and Matt Jones’ hip issue, Thomas was signed on Dec. 11, just two days before the Redskins played the Chicago Bears.
Thomas wasn’t the team’s featured back over the last month of the season, but he served his role as veteran leader and occasional change-of-pace back well, totaling 52 rushing yards and 84 receiving yards on 54 offensive snaps.
