Congratulations to the Washington Redskins, you’re no longer part of the lowest scoring Super Bowl in history.
New England’s 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in Super Bowl LII surpassed the Miami Dolphins’ 14-7 win against the Redskins in Super Bowl VII (1973) as the lowest scoring championship game. The Patriots-Rams combined for a 16-point total, while Dolphins-Redskins had 21 total points.
The Rams’ three points also tied a low — matching the 1971 Dolphins’ three points against the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl VI.
The Redskins-Dolphins game featured a combined 12 punts between the two teams and 481 yards of offense.
