It wasn’t the year Chris Culliver expected in his first season with the Washington Redskins. The cornerback was the team’s top free agency acquisition during the offseason, signing a four-year deal worth as much as $32 million in March to serve as the No. 1 cornerback. He did so in just six games.
Culliver was placed on injured reserve after tearing ligaments in his right knee during the Redskins’ Thanksgiving practice. He had served a one-game suspension and previously dealt with another knee injury, but a torn ACL and MCL ended his season with six regular season games remaining.
