Offseason question: How will the safety depth chart shake out?

Upgrading the safety unit ranked among the most pressing areas of need for the Washington Redskins this offseason, so the team signed Jeron Johnson in free agency, traded for Dashon Goldson and drafted Kyshoen Jarrett.

Those additions, plus holdovers Duke Ihenacho, Phillip Thomas, Trenton Robinson, Akeem Davis and Damon Cromartie-Smith combine to give Washington a crowded, yet unsettled, situation at safety.

Goldson, a two-time Pro Bowl pick while with San Francisco before spending two seasons in Tampa Bay, is the unquestioned starter at free safety.

But the starting strong safety job, and the spots on the depth chart at both positions also remain unresolved as the Redskins enter training camp later this month.
