Offseason improvements equal optimism for Bashaud Breeland, Ziggy Hood

ASHBURN, Va., -- Cleaning out the notebook for the Washington Redskins season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and a few thoughts on the NFC East after Sunday:

  • One reason why the Redskins don’t need to have Josh Norman cover Antonio Brown by himself all night: fellow cornerback Bashaud Breeland. There will be times when Norman goes where Brown does -- but typically when the receiver goes in motion and it’s man coverage (there are times when he’ll go that way and appear to be in man, only to switch with the cornerback on that side).
