Niles Paul blocks out frustrating season while helping at multiple spots

ASHBURN, Va., -- As the play developed, Washington Redskins tight end Niles Paul gained an edge on the Philadelphia Eagles linebacker, starting inside then working his feet around to seal the edge. It was a victory for Paul, one made sweeter a second or two later when running back Matt Jones crossed the goal line.

For a player whose role has changed quite a bit from the summer of 2015, it was a high moment in a sometimes tough season for Paul.

Before his season-ending ankle injury last summer, he was going to start at tight end.
