NFL Supplemental Draft: Scouting S Jalen Thompson’s fit with the Redskins

The Washington Redskins definitely are an up-and-coming team on the defensive side of the ball. Armed with an extremely talented front-seven, the team has a solid secondary as well that doesn’t have a lot of holes. But, if you were finding an area to nit-pick, it would be safety.

The Redskins haven’t gotten quality safety play for many years, but they seemingly had something working heading into last season with D.J. Swearinger and Montae Nicholson. However, Nicholson was benched in favor of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who they acquired in a trade, while Swearinger was cut for repeatedly calling out his teammates and coaches to the media despite being told not to.
