The Washington Redskins have selected Iowa Offensive Tackle Brandon Scherff with the fifth pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. The Redskins came into this draft looking to improve their offensive line and they got a big time blocker for their offense in the selection of Scherff.
The Redskins have had issues trying to nail down their right tackle spot and they went through Tom Compton Tyler Polumbus and Morgan Moses there in 2014. But they weren’t able to find the consistency they needed.
Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan stated that he wanted to take the best player available to add more talent to the Redskins roster.
